Background
2006:
Advanced membrane filter technology licensed from Texas A&M to Geopure Water Technologies (former company, GWT). Original intent was to purify brine for drinking water on well sites. Technology fails in the field.
Late 2006:
Steve Cone joins GWT to lend oilfield operations expertise. He quickly recognizes that process engineering prior to membrane treatment is crucial to success. Realizing the true value of the technology, focus is shifted from drinking water to produced and flowback water recycling and purification.
2007:
Steve Cone recruits Robert Hayes and other water engineers to develop pre-treatment processes.
2007-2009:
Purification technology is adapted to oil and gas applications through the development of pre-treatment processes. The technology is proven to work in the field for various types of contaminated water. Five successful pilot projects conducted. In May of 2009, results of a pilot project indicate the technology is ready for commercialization.
2009:
An investment group, lead by several prominent Fort Worth Businessmen, forms GeoPure HydroTechnologies LCC. The partnership purchases the assets of GWT with the goal of commercializing the technology. Ryan Perras joins as CFO and COO.
Early 2010:
Complete large, final pilot project(s) conducted for one or more major natural gas producers.
2010:
Commercialization of wastewater recycling technology.
